Chemical peel

A chemical peel is a process used to enhance the appearance of the exposed skin, especially on the face, neck or hands. In this process, a chemical solution is applied to the skin for exfoliating and the skin eventually peels off. The new, regenerated skin is smoother and wrinkles less than the old skin. The new skin is momentarily sensitive to the sun.

There are three types of chemical peel treatment process:

Medium peel: in this process, involves the application of a mild acid to penetrate the outer and middle layers of skin to remove damaged skin cells. Deep peel: in this process, strong peeling agents are used to deeply penetrate the middle layer of skin and to remove damaged skin cells. The treatment removes moderate lines, age spots, freckles and thin scars with enhancement in skin appearance. The procedure is used on the face and only can be performed once.

After the treatment, light flaking occurs in confines area for several days. Skin peeling usually starts on the second day after treatment and continue for up to 5 days. The skin will be warm and tight for several days.
