Laser photo rejuvenation procedure
The aesthetic surgeon provides eye pads or special glasses to protect the eyes. A cooling gel or agent is applied to the skin to be treated. The laser device emits a beam of light waves that are focused and targeted to the red blood cells in the blood vessels (hemoglobin) or the brown pigment in freckles and age spots (melanin). The light beam passes through the skin to the deeper layer and is absorbed by either hemoglobin or melanin causing damage to the vessel wall or fragmentation of melanin pigment. The fragmented pigments and broken blood vessels are then absorbed by the body thereby reducing the visibility.
The laser photo facial is a daycare procedure and consists of a full series of 3-5 treatments at regular intervals. After each session, the visibility of spots, tan and pigmentations are reduced and the treatment continues until desired results are achieved.
